AFRIKA KOMMT fellowship programme in Germany

The programme AFRIKA KOMMT! brings together the most visionary young leaders from Africa and leading German companies. Companies benefit from the expertise, knowledge, local network and unique African perspective of the young professionals. The African fellows dive deep into the German corporate specifics, German business spirit and the German culture. Empowered with international experience, technical skills and German language they become African change agents for the sake of both: the German business relations with Africa as well as for economic and social growth in the fellows’ home countries and communities.


AFRIKA KOMMT! is a fellowship programme that connects visionary African professionals and leading German companies. Together they pave the way for global inclusive business and mutually beneficial cooperation.

AFRIKA KOMMT! is a programme for young, extraordinary African professionals who wish to expand the horizons of their skills, knowledge and experience and are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone to do so! We strive to facilitate young leaders to drive economic and social development of their countries by promoting sustainable cooperation with German industry.

Through a one year fellowship, AFRIKA KOMMT! equips young professionals with the skills, exposure and inspiration they need to become the next generation of African leaders. The programme is structured in three different phases.

A Comprehensive Programme in Three Phases 

Selection and Preparation

  • Definition of fellowship profiles by the companies
  • Application phase
  • Selection of the candidates for the Assessment Center
  • Assessment Center and final selection of fellows
  • Preparatory German course in the home country for fellows

One-Year Stay in Germany

  • Intensive German language course
  • 3 Management Training (Focus: Intercultural Competencies, Leadership, Project and Change Management, Conflict Management)
  • 8-month fellowship in the partner company
  • One-week study tour
  • Weekend Seminars
  • Networking events
  • Farewell ceremony with the Federal Foreign Office

Alumni Phase 

  • One-week refresher course
  • Participation in AFRIKA KOMMT! events
  • Alumni projects
  • Continuous networking

Language Course

  • An individual German language course before departure to Germany
  • An intensive German language course in Germany including fees, accommodation and living allowance

Professional Fellowship in Partner Company

  • 8-month fellowship in the partner company
  • training and mentoring provided by the partner company

Training

  • International management training courses
  • Study tour
  • Weekend seminars

Alumni activities

  • Refresher course in Germany or Africa, including management training
  • Alumni networking activities
  • Support for alumni projects

Travelling expenses

  • Visa for Germany for one year
  • Roundtrip airfare from your home town to Germany and back
  • Travel to refresher course and back
  • Programme-related travelling expenses in Germany

Monthly living allowance or salary

  • Monthly living allowance of €900,- (months 1-3, month 12)
  • Monthly salary during the internship in the companies of approx. € 1.500,- gross
  • One-off relocation fee of € 1.000,- for settling back into your home country

Important note:

The monthly allowance of € 750,- and the salary ensures an adequate standard of living in Germany. However, the amount is not sufficient to provide financial support for families or relatives and for this reason, they cannot accompany you to Germany.

Accommodation

Accommodation during all stages of the programme in Germany (including internet allowance, electricity, water and other charges).

Insurance

  • Health insurance during months 1-3 and months 12
  • Accident and liability insurance

Certificate

AFRIKA KOMMT! is a practice-oriented fellowship programme. You will receive two certificates: One official certificate upon successful completion of the programme with a detailed description of the specific contents and components of the training and a certificate by the Academy for International Cooperation of GIZ GmbH by successful completion of the professional training in the tool “International Competence Development Journal”.

To apply for the programme you must:

  • Be a Citizen of any African country
  • Have a University degree in a relevant subject
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g. MBA) is an advantage
  • Have two to five years of work experience
  • Have excellent English language skills
  • Basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage
  • Not be older than 35 years at the time of application

In addition to the above technical and educational requirements, you should also have the following skills and attributes:

Language and communication skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High willingness to learn German

Trinity Leadership Fellows Program 2025 in USA | Fully Funded

Trinity Leadership Fellows Program 2025 in the USA:

Host Country:

  • United States of America

Host Body:

  • Trinity Church Wall Street.

Program Tenure:

  • The period of the Trinity Leadership Program in the USA is for two years.

In-Person Program Dates:

  • September 14-19, 2025 and most likely from September 14–18, 2026.

Benefits of the Trinity Leadership Fellows Program in the USA:

Eligibility Criteria of the Trinity Leadership Fellows Program in the USA:

  • Open to applicants worldwide
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Up to 15 years of experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is mandatory
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English required
  • Welcomes individuals of all faiths, though curriculum is tailored for a Christian audience
  • Active involvement in a faith community expected
  • Must demonstrate a track record of community service for the common good
  • Requires an entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with others is essential

  • Upload your resume. If selected for an interview, provide transcripts from your undergraduate and graduate studies.
  • Choose references who can speak about your leadership abilities and how your faith influences your leadership. References will be contacted only if you are invited to an interview.
  • Participate in an online interview if shortlisted, conducted via Zoom or a similar platform.
  • Applications are reviewed by the Leadership Development team, Trinity clergy, staff, and select TLF alumni, assessing leadership experience, community service, and alignment with the program’s values.

Humboldt Residency Programme

 

Overview

The Humboldt Residency Program invites participants to collaborate intensively on pressing global issues. In 2025, our focus is “The Future of Food.” This program connects a diverse group of participants from various fields, including academia, arts, and civil society, to explore innovative solutions and share their insights with a broader audience.

Program Details

Program Dates

  • June 2025 to November 2025
    • 24 June: Virtual kick-off meeting
    • 4 – 15 August: Two-week residency at the Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf
    • 15 August – 12 September: Four-week residency in Berlin
    • September – November: Remote finalization of output formats
    • November: Virtual wrap-up event
      Note: Participants must be present in person from 4 August to 12 September.

Funding Specifications

Participants will receive support that includes:

  • A monthly allowance during the residency
  • Travel expenses to and from Germany
  • Accommodation at Schloss Wiepersdorf and in Berlin
  • A budget for public events or final output formats

Family Support: Participants traveling with family will receive suitable accommodation and childcare assistance.

Participants

The residency will host:

  • A creative lead: Prof. Dr. Vânia Zuin Zeidler
    • Professor of Sustainable Chemistry at Leuphana University Lüneburg
  • Three Humboldt Foundation alumni (not currently involved in Foundation programs)
  • Three junior researchers (PhD candidates or recent graduates)
  • Five individuals from civil society (journalism, arts, social entrepreneurship)

We encourage applications from individuals across all disciplines with relevant connections to the theme.

The Future of Food

Food is a fundamental human need, serving as a bridge across cultures and generations. This residency explores how innovation and ethics in food production address global health challenges and social inequalities. Participants will investigate various subtopics, including:

  • Environmental Shifts: Innovations in food production in response to climate change and resource scarcity.
  • Global Food Trends: The impact of dietary shifts and social inequality on food sustainability.
  • Health and Ethics: Challenges related to obesity, food insecurity, and accessibility.
  • Cultural Constructs: How food shapes cultural identity and influences consumption.

United People Global Sustainability Leader Fellowship Available (Fully Funded)

 

OVERVIEW 

 

 United People Global Sustainability Leader Fellowship UPGSustainability Leadership is a movement that mobilises individuals and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. This movement is led by UPG Sustainability Leaders and each year UPG trains 500+ UPG Sustainability Leaders from all world regions to join the existing family of outstanding leaders who are taking action within their communities to demonstrate the power of citizens to create a more sustainable world. As part of their actions, UPG Sustainability Leaders have directly trained over 86,000 citizens across the world (and counting).

 

What we are looking for: 

We are building a diverse group of people who are taking positive action that helps the world to tackle sustainability challenges. And so please show us who you are because we are NOT looking for the “same” type of people. This opportunity is FREE to selected Applicants and so we are looking for the most motivated among the applicants. Is your passion for and commitment to sustainability strong enough? Are you willing to stand proudly and to take your place among a family of warriors for a more sustainable world? Successful applicants always take extra steps to demonstrate their motivation to become UPG Sustainability Leaders.

 

  UPG Sustainability Leaders include the following people described below.

– people who are passionate in a specific area (e.g. jobs or education or oceans), there is no need to be passionate in all areas.

– people who have already taken action related to sustainability AND people who have NEVER taken action

– people from all world regions

– people aged 18 to 35 between 1 March and 31 July 2025

– people of different levels of education

– people who have a strong motivation to be UPG Sustainability Leaders

– people who are willing and able to take action on sustainability

– people who believe in UPG’s mission to empower people to make the world a better place through positive action.

 

 

Finally this diversity means that everyone stands a chance when we make the selection of the final UPG Sustainability Leaders. Please note that between 1 March and 31 July 2025, your age must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 35 years. This ensures that all participants are within this age group for the duration of the training and experiences that are planned. Please also note that candidates are required to be able to speak, read and write in English as the training is conducted in English.

NEW YORK TIMES FELLOWSHIP FOR JOURNALISTS

 The New York Times Fellowship is a one-year work program aimed at cultivating the next generation of journalists.

The fellowship represents a unique opportunity to do great journalism for The Times. It incorporates speakers, feedback and training opportunities. The program’s goal is to benefit not only the participants and The Times, but also other newsrooms. We expect most of our fellows will graduate to positions around the country and world.

The application window for the 2025-26 Times Fellowship is now open. All of our fellows work full time, in either the newsroom or the Opinion section. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 2.

The fellowship program, which is for early career journalists, is slated to begin on June 2, 2025, and end on May 22, 2026. These are hybrid positions that require regular attendance in the office each week per departmental guidance.`
