NEW YORK TIMES FELLOWSHIP FOR JOURNALISTS

The New York Times Fellowship is a one-year work program aimed at cultivating the next generation of journalists.

The fellowship represents a unique opportunity to do great journalism for The Times. It incorporates speakers, feedback and training opportunities. The program’s goal is to benefit not only the participants and The Times, but also other newsrooms. We expect most of our fellows will graduate to positions around the country and world.

The application window for the 2025-26 Times Fellowship is now open. All of our fellows work full time, in either the newsroom or the Opinion section. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 2.

The fellowship program, which is for early career journalists, is slated to begin on June 2, 2025, and end on May 22, 2026. These are hybrid positions that require regular attendance in the office each week per departmental guidance.`
