The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026 Undergraduate Programme is a Korean Government scholarship that offers eligible Tanzanian students an opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies in South Korea with financial support.
The programme is administered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under South Korea's Ministry of Education.
Important: The 2026 undergraduate scholarship is a past application cycle as of September 2026. This guide covers the 2026 Tanzania application, including the announced scholarship places and eligibility requirements. It is not an announcement that applications for the 2026 intake are still open.
1. 2026 Scholarship Places for Tanzania
The Korean Embassy in Tanzania announced two undergraduate scholarships for Tanzanian applicants:

The Embassy planned to recommend four candidates to NIIED, which would make the final selection of two scholars.
2. Application deadline and important changes
The original Embassy application deadline was 30 September 2025. Following suspension of the online application system, the Embassy revised the process:
Application period: 6–17 October 2025.
Submission: in person or by postal mail to the Korean Embassy in Tanzania.
Embassy interview: scheduled for 23 or 24 October 2025, subject to changes.
Applicants who had submitted online were required to resubmit offline.
The 2026 application cycle is now closed.
3. Scholarship benefits
The GKS Undergraduate scholarship generally provides:
Round-trip airfare.
Tuition fees.
Korean language training fees.
Monthly living allowance.
Settlement support and other academic benefits under the official award terms.
