🇨🇦 New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot (NBCWP) – 2025 Update

Looking to immigrate to Canada through a job offer? The NBCWP might be your pathway to permanent residency!

🛠️ What is the NBCWP?

The NBCWP is a five-year pilot program (running until 2027) initiated by the Government of New Brunswick to address critical labor shortages in various sectors. It’s an employer-driven stream, meaning applications are made through participating employers rather than directly by candidates.

✅ Eligibility Criteria:

 • Age: 19 to 55 years old at the time of application.

 • Language Proficiency: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French. Accepted tests include IELTS, CELPIP, TEF Canada, and TCF Canada.

 • Education: At least a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent foreign credential assessed by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).

 • Work Experience: Minimum of 1,560 hours (equivalent to one year of full-time work) in the past five years.

 • Job Offer: A genuine, full-time, non-seasonal, permanent job offer from a participating New Brunswick employer.

🏢 Participating Employers:

As of now, six employers are part of the NBCWP:

 1. Cooke Aquaculture

 2. J.D. Irving Ltd.

 3. Groupe Savoie

 4. Groupe Westco

 5. Imperial Manufacturing Group

 6. McCain Foods Ltd.

💼 Application Process:

 1. Secure a Job Offer: Apply directly to one of the participating employers.

 2. Expression of Interest (EOI): Once you have a job offer, create an EOI profile through the Immigration New Brunswick (INB) online portal.

 3. Invitation to Apply (ITA): If selected, you’ll receive an ITA and have 45 days to submit a complete application.

 4. Nomination: Upon approval, you’ll receive a nomination from New Brunswick.

 5. Permanent Residency Application: Apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency.

📄 Required Documents:

 • Identity Documents: Passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate (if applicable).

 • Language Test Results: Valid results from an accepted language test.

 • Educational Credentials: Diploma and ECA report.

 • Work Experience: Reference letters, employment contracts, pay stubs.

 • Job Offer Letter: Detailed offer from a participating employer.

 • Settlement Plan: Outline of how you plan to settle in New Brunswick.

💡 Key Benefits:

 • No Proof of Funds Required: Unlike other immigration streams, NBCWP does not require proof of settlement funds.

 • Employer Support: Employers may provide up to 200 hours of language training and assist with settlement services like housing and transportation.

 • Pathway to Permanent Residency: A streamlined process leading to PR status in Canada.
