MS/PhD Position in Plant Reproductive Development at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Walia Lab, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.
Are you passionate about plant biology and ready to make an impact in agricultural science?
The Walia Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is offering an exciting funded MS/PhD position to study grain development under abiotic stresses in important cereal crops such as rice and maize.
This opportunity is ideal for motivated students interested in phenomics, genetic analysis, whole-plant physiology, and advanced molecular techniques like gene editing.
The selected graduate student will work on key projects aimed at understanding and improving grain development under environmental stresses.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plant Biology, Agriculture, Biochemistry, Plant Genetics, or a closely related field
•Preferred: Prior research experience in a lab or greenhouse setting
•Preferred: Familiarity with statistical analysis and/or programming skills (e.g., R, Python, bioinformatics)
Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to scientific research are essential for success in this position.
