Many
universities abroad don't recognize DIPLOMA as a full-fledged bachelor's
degree, and getting a postgraduate diploma (PGD) doesn't salvage the situation.
So, what WES
does is to do a course-by-course evaluation of your academic records and then
offer an explanation to foreign universities that your DIPLOMA or PG DIPLOMAS
are an equivalent of a 4-year university degree.
A STEP BY
STEP GUIDE:
A
step-by-step guide on how to do a WES evaluation of your transcript(s) to boost
your scholarship chances
🟢 Two keys advantages of doing a WES
evaluation of your transcripts:
1️⃣ It boosts your CGPA
2️⃣ It gives you access to apply to
universities that require it.
· NOTE that WES evaluation is not only for
DIPLOMA certificate holders, some
schools require all international students to submit an evaluation of their
transcripts.
1. Visit
https://wes.org and start the credential evaluation process by clicking on the
"get started" button on the home page.
2. Choose
the country where your target universities are located.
3. Input
your email address and hit "next."
4. Verify
your email address by inputting the verification code, undergo the registration
process by inputting your details, and hit "create account".
5. If they
ask if you already have a WES reference number, choose "NO" as your
response unless you already have one.
6. Next,
you'll be asked, "What is the primary purpose of this evaluation?"
Choose "Education" and select the level of education you're pursuing.
If you're seeking master's or PhD admission select "Graduate
Admissions."
7. Add
credentials: Select your country, choose National Diploma and Higher National
Diploma, (and other additional documents as the case may be), type the name of
school that issued you the certificate(s), years attended, year awarded etc.
8. Details
of your address where they'll mail your personal copy of your evaluation to.
Also choose delivery option (Standard $12, International $81).
9. Would you
like to order additional copies for yourself? If yes, they charge $7 per
additional copy. They call it "additional copy" because it is in
addition to the one they'll mail to the school(s) you're applying to.
🔴You can choose NO, and just download
the free watermarked copy from your account after they complete the evaluation.
If you choose YES, you get the exact clean copy they would send to your
school(s) without any watermark on it. Whatever option you choose, know that
you can use your free or paid copy to apply to as many schools as possible.
10.
Recipient 2: Institution(s) receiving your evaluated copy. Note that you're
"recipient 1." At this point, you can decide not to add the address
of any school. Just submit the free or paid copy you have during the
application process.
🔴You can later add the address of any
school of your choice and WES will send them a copy of your evaluation if the
said school requires that you must send your evaluated transcript straight from
WES during the application process.
🔴Otherwise, most schools only ask you
to instruct WES to send your evaluated transcript(s) directly to them only
after you've been admitted and you've chosen to resume at their institution.
🔴Each institution you add will result
in an additional fee of $33 plus shipping and handling.
11. Choose
evaluation type: WES ICAP ($225) or WES Basic ($176).
🔴Difference: ICAP stores your
evaluated transcript so that if you need WES to send it to any school, they'll
just retrieve and send. WES Basic doesn't save and when you need them to send
to any school, they can't send what they don't have, so you might have to
resubmit transcript for evaluation or pay an additional fee. I recommend WES
ICAP course-by-course evaluation.
12. Confirm
the information you supplied.
13. Payment
method: Choose Credit/Debit or Convera (Western Union).
14. Get your
WES reference number: If you choose credit/debit card, you MUST make payment
before getting your reference number (and if you don't get this reference
number, you can't send your transcript to WES). However, if you choose Western
Union (now known as Convera), they'll instantly show you your reference number.
🔴Now that you have your reference
number, you can delay making WES payment and use the ref number to first of all
process your transcript from the school where you graduated.
🔴You many not have money for WES
payment at the moment. So, while you're processing your transcript to be sent
to WES for evaluation, you're buying time to save up for WES evaluation fee.
🔴The interesting thing is, after your
transcript gets to WES, they'll keep it and wait for your payment. Whenever you
make the payment, WES will then commence the evaluation.
